Condition of the Machine:
The feed hopper with bag opener was in operation at a major recycling company, where recyclable materials from yellow bags or commercial waste were tipped into the bunker by wheel loaders, the bags were opened by the bag opener, and the recyclables were conveyed in a metered flow to a sorting system, or the commercial waste was forwarded for further processing. The system operated flawlessly until dismantling and was replaced with a larger system with higher throughput. The machine was dismantled into individual components in our workshop, partially overhauled, reassembled, and tested during operation.
The following overhaul works were carried out and/or the following spare parts were replaced:
- Dismantling of the feed hopper and bag opener into individual components. Cleaning, partial sandblasting, priming, and painting of the steel parts.
- Various wear and cover plates were newly manufactured and installed.
- Cutting off the worn ends (approx. 40 cm) of the moving floor tubes. Welding on new tubes and smoothing of the moving floor tubes.
- Renewal of all sliding plastic plates for the hydraulic moving floor.
- Dismantling of the hydraulic power unit for the moving floor, draining any residual hydraulic oil, replacing the oil filters, and refilling with new hydraulic oil.
- Replacement of the three hydraulic blocks, all valves, oil sight glass, and all hydraulic hoses of the hydraulic unit.
- All three hydraulic cylinders for the moving floor had their seal kits and hydraulic hoses replaced.
- All six limit switches (proximity sensors) for the moving floor were replaced.
- The conveyor chains on the left and right of the scrape conveyor were replaced.
- Seven driver bars on the scrape conveyor were replaced.
- The drive motor for the bag opener blades was replaced.
- All nine pneumatic cylinders for the pressure pipes were replaced. All pneumatic lines and connections were replaced.
- All sliding plastic plates for the hydraulic movement of the bag opener were replaced. The bag opener can be moved in depth to allow the system to be used for commercial or residual waste without employing the bag opener.
- The lateral collision protection plates were replaced on both sides.
- Various wear parts of the bag opener were replaced.
- The entire system was rewired and electrically reconnected.
- The system control in the control cabinet was converted by the manufacturer, BRT Hartner, back to stand-alone single control, and the standard program was reloaded to the control unit.
- The system was commissioned and tested by BRT Hartner, as shown in the function video.
