The Desktop Metal Studio System 2 printer was designed from the ground up for easy installation and use. Its process closely resembles the safest and most widely-used 3D printing technology, Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF). Unlike laser-based systems that melt metal powder selectively, the Studio System 2 extrudes bound metal rods, eliminating the common requirements associated with metal 3D printing and enabling new features such as gyroid infill for lightweight strength.
