Açıklama
A guided thrust boring machine is a trenchless technology that enables the installation of underground utilities—such as water pipes, sewer pipes, power cables, electrical cables, telecommunication lines, fiber optic cables, and more—without the need for extensive excavation works. The thrust boring machine is hydraulically driven and equipped with a pilot head, which allows for on-the-fly trajectory corrections during the boring process.
Thanks to integrated measurement systems, the operator can precisely control both the depth and direction of the thrust, maintaining high accuracy even over crossings of several dozen meters. This capability is critical where tight alignment and obstacle avoidance are essential to ensure no damage to existing infrastructure and safe bypassing of underground obstacles.
This solution is particularly valued in locations where earthworks are difficult or impossible, such as under roads, lawns, rail tracks, parking lots, pavements, or other urbanized areas.
Applications of Guided Thrust Boring
Guided thrust borings are ideal wherever underground utilities need to be installed without disrupting the normal operation of the surrounding environment.
The most common applications for thrust boring machines include:
- crossings beneath roads and streets with heavy traffic,
- boring beneath railways and tram tracks,
- crossings under watercourses and channels,
- installing utilities beneath sidewalks, parking lots, industrial yards, and similar surfaces,
- making service connections to properties without excavating the entirety of the area.
With the ALUSTEER product, the process is carried out without the use of drilling fluid (bentonite), which significantly reduces implementation costs and minimizes environmental disturbance.
