Horizon BQ-470

The Horizon BQ-470, manufactured in 2008, serial number 318004, is a four-clamp perfect binder designed for professional book production. With a maximum book format of 320 x 320 mm and a book thickness range of 1 to 65 mm, it offers flexibility for a wide variety of binding applications. The machine, currently in operation at a print shop in Germany, combines automation, precision, and reliability to deliver consistent results.

This binder is equipped with an EVA hotmelt side gluing system and a PUR adhesive unit, enabling the use of both EVA and PUR adhesives. The heating system is adjustable from 100 to 200°C, with adhesive operating temperatures of 120°C for EVA and up to 130°C for PUR. The machine requires a 400 V power supply, consumes 4.8 kW for the binder and 4.4 kW for the melting unit, and operates with a 6 bar compressed air supply.

Key performance highlights include a maximum output of 1,000 cycles per hour, a warm-up time of approximately 50 minutes, and a cover feeder with suction drum for a loading capacity of 150 mm. It supports cover sizes from 135 x 225 mm up to 320 x 660 mm and cover weights from 90 gsm to 300 gsm. Additional features include 4-way positive/negative creasing (optionally with 2-way creasing) and a robust construction with a total weight of 2,170 kg plus 150 kg for the melting unit.
