Roller glue application units for edge banding machines require regular maintenance, care, and cleaning. Accumulated chips, burnt adhesive residues, and other foreign objects negatively affect a consistently thin glue application. This applies when using EVA hot-melt adhesives, and especially for the use of PUR adhesives. If the glue pot remains in the machine, poor accessibility limits cleaning effectiveness. If the unit is removed—which is quick and easy with most brands—rapid cooling prevents thorough cleaning. Additionally, there is usually no stable holder for the still-hot glue pot, nor a drive for the glue roller.
With this easy-to-use device, regular cleaning and maintenance tasks can be easily performed by operating or maintenance personnel themselves.
