The Kolbus KM 470 is a robust perfect binder designed for professional bookbinding operations. The machine features a comprehensive gathering system, specifically a ZU gathering machine with 18 stations and a hand-feed station, enabling efficient collation of book blocks. The KM 470 binder itself is equipped with 25 clamps, ensuring secure handling of the book blocks during the binding process. It includes a milling station for precise spine preparation, followed by hotmelt spine and side glue stations for strong, durable binding. The Stream Cover Feeder automates cover feeding, while the clamping and pressing station ensures a tight, professional finish. The machine is fitted with a delivery unit for smooth transfer of the bound book blocks; however, it does not include drying conveyors. The Kolbus OMG stacker organizes finished products for easy handling. Manufactured in 1992, this system is currently in operation at a print shop in Germany and can process book blocks up to 310 x 390 x 60 mm in size.
