Note:
The original PLC controller Siemens S7-200 CPU 224 is missing (see photo: control cabinet without PLC controller), thus automatic operation is not possible in this condition. The controller also managed the screw separation process and the screwdriving system itself. The bowl feeder is fully operational without the PLC controller; the integrated bowl feeder regulator does not require PLC activation.

Process:
Fasteners are loaded as bulk material into the bowl and moved upwards by the bowl’s mechanical oscillation (micro-throw principle). The bowl feeder is switched on or off automatically depending on the fill level of the screw magazine. The screw is then pneumatically conveyed via a plastic tube to the downstream equipment. The feed impulse for each screw is triggered externally by the downstream equipment.
