General description:
CNC manual input control with program input via function and numeric keypad. All data entry is dialog-based via the screen. Integrated menu technology and display of all functions in plain text. Operator panel, monitor, and handwheel mounted in a separate chip protection enclosure.

The EPL control offers the following features:
Programs may be entered and modified directly via operator guidance without manual programming preparation. NC programs according to ISO/EIA standard can be entered, output or manually input directly via RS 232 serial interface.
Machining cycles:
Stock removal cycles for longitudinal turning, facing, and contour turning – also with finishing allowance. Threading. Undercuts to DIN 509, shapes E and F, and DIN 76, with programmable grinding allowance. Axial and radial grooves to DIN 471 and 472, also with bottom finishing. Radii 90° and chamfers 45°. Automatic tool nose radius compensation for cycles, undercut, groove, radius, and chamfering operations.
Programming:
Block-oriented, metric/inch, diameter input in absolute mode, radius in incremental input, full circle programming, subroutine technology, maskable levels for program segments. Zero-point offset. Operating mode selection by menu.
Program entry and output:
Via user-guided menu dialog or direct dialog input.
