Tray Sealing Machine
Model: ILPRA FOODPACK 400 N
(sold together with 5,000 trays and the corresponding film)
Machine for cutting and heat sealing with metallized film from roll stock,
compatible with pre-formed trays made of plastic, aluminized material, and/or laminated cardboard.
Tray dimensions: max. = 280 x 32 h mm (single lane).
Mechanical operating speed: approx. 400 cycles/hour, depending on the material used and characteristics of the product to be packed. Operation
with vacuum and inert gas injection at a speed depending on the vacuum level (4 cycles/minute).
OPERATION AND DESCRIPTION:

The FOODPACK model 400N machine is a practical, robustly built unit.
The conveyor movement and film feed/rewind system are mechanical, while the sealing plate
is pneumatically actuated. The machine is controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC).
The construction of the FOODPACK model 400N takes into account the special humidity conditions
in the operating area. All parts in contact with the product, as well as the work surface
and covers, are made of stainless steel (S/S).
Changing the machine for a different tray format takes about 5 minutes.
MACHINE SECTIONS:
Tray Loading Section:
The loader is made up of tray guides (these guides ensure correct positioning
of the filled trays). After placing a tray in position,
the operator inserts it into the sealing area by pulling a lever. (Here, a presence sensor
permits subsequent operations only if the tray is correctly positioned). After heat sealing,
the operator must return the form to the loading position, remove the sealed tray,
and insert the next tray for the subsequent sealing cycle.
Film Unwinding and Rewinding Group:
This unit automatically positions the required amount of sealing film
fed from the roll, under the sealing and cutting unit, and automatically rewinds
the excess film. This group can optionally be equipped with a date printing system
(manufacture/expiry date). Optionally, an alignment device allows precise centering of
images on the metallized film that seals the tray.
Sealing and Cutting Sector:
In this section, the film is cut and sealed onto the tray (the cut is made precisely in the shape of the tray).
Once the tray is positioned in the sealing area, the operator presses the START button,
and the sealing-cutting operation is carried out. Both the upper and lower molds are
custom made according to the characteristics of the chosen tray and require a high
degree of customization. The sealing plate is electronically timed and each
operation must be individually temperature controlled. This section is equipped with a
quick change mold system: to release and fix the upper mold,
it is sufficient to turn the selector key on the control panel.
Control Panel:
Equipped with a temperature controller for sealing temperature adjustment, a timer
for sealing time adjustment, and a display keyboard that controls machine functions,
as well as START and EMERGENCY STOP buttons, main switch, and rapid mold change selector.
