The coordinate boring machine features the rare motorized table drive option in both X and Y axes, with potentiometer. This eliminates the need for laborious manual cranking over longer distances to reach individual positions. It is also equipped with rare thermal stabilization and expansion compensation. For this, two independent heaters are provided, which must be switched on separately before starting work and to maintain high accuracy and dimensional consistency. This explains the factory-specified high positioning accuracy of 0.002 mm, with a resolution of 0.001 mm.

What is truly unique is that this Hauser is equipped with two Heidenhain digital readouts with a total of four glass scales with 1μm resolution, covering the quill feed as well. This is a major advantage for precise drilling and boring at depth using Wohlhaupter, boring tools, etc. Machines with these options and in such exemplary condition are extremely rare and likely unavailable elsewhere.

True connoisseurs of these machines—which are mainly used in watchmaking, precision engineering, materials testing, and optical industries—are aware of the value of these masterpieces of mechanical engineering.
