Centreless grinding is a process used for the grinding of cylindrical bodies and is applied for mass production of rollers, cylindrical and conical bearings, nozzle needles, pump pistons, hydraulic sliders, crossheads, drills, etc.
During centreless plunge grinding, the workpiece is ground in a single pass thanks to the movement of the grinding wheel. For this, both the grinding wheel and the regulating wheel are profiled to the negative contour of the workpiece using a tool.
Pass-through or also called through-feed and traverse grinding: parts to be processed are continuously fed axially through the grinding gap.
